AWC Introduction to River/Whitewater SUP Skills (Class I-II)

Saturday, June 1 2024 9:00am (3-4 hrs)

Learn the fundamentals of river paddle boarding. This course will cover logistics, equipment, safety, basic river paddling techniques, and how to read the river to find routes, hazards, and basic river maneuvers (ferry/eddy turns).

Skill Prerequisites: Comfortable standing and paddling on flat water, able to confidently maneuver your SUP and paddle in a straight line on flat water.

Clinic Cost: $40.00

ACA (American Canoe Association) Event Insurance: $10/person for non-ACA members (this is mandatory!!) A parent or guardian must sign the waiver for anyone under the age of 18.

If you are an ACA member, event insurance is included in your membership. Please provide your ACA membership number in the form during registration.

Equipment needed: SUP (9-11’ x 32-36”), shallow water fin (5” or less), Paddle, PFD. Dress for cold water (wetsuits or dry suits, we will be getting wet!) Helmet Preferred. Water, snacks, dry bag, change of clothes.
